## II. Errata entered

**E-ND-6 (terminology of record — Empire of Morocco).** Author ruling 2026-08-26: never "U.S.-Morocco"; always **Empire of Morocco**, to distinguish the Empire from the Kingdom of Morocco. Every "U.S.-Morocco" construction in the instrument is replaced by "United States–Empire of Morocco" — three occurrences: the Note on dating ("the sole sovereign instrument of grant in the United States–Empire of Morocco record"), §II.A ("the sole sovereign act of grant in the United States–Empire of Morocco record"), and §II.D ("The grantor's sovereign voice of grant in the United States–Empire of Morocco record is the 1786 dāʾima hiba"). Verbatim proper nouns are untouched by the rule and remain of record: the ICJ case caption *Rights of Nationals of the United States of America in Morocco* (§II.B, Admission 10), the Treaties in Force index heading "Morocco · Peace" (Admission 11), and the quoted 1786 commission ("His Majesty the Emperour of Morocco").

**E-ND-7 (recordation precision — the twelve-month notice clause is in the 1836 Arabic).** Verified against the source of record (Hunter Miller, *Treaties and Other International Acts of the United States*, vol. 4, GPO 1934, Document 81): the twelve-month termination-notice clause **is present in the 1836 Arabic text** — Article 25, print p. 59: one party notifies the other within a period of one year (*min sana*) of its intention, and the treaty terminates upon the completion of that year (*yanqaṭiʿu baʿda tamām tilka al-sana*). Miller's own editorial note confirms the clause is an 1836 addition, absent from 1786: "this treaty **adds** that thereafter the treaty shall continue unless and until twelve months' notice of denunciation is given" (vol. 4, print p. 65). The instrument's former phrasing — "first appearing in the 1836 *English* recordation" — was therefore imprecise and is conformed:

- **§II.C:** "…which appears for the first time in the 1836 recordation — Arabic text, Article 25 (Miller, vol. 4, print p. 59), with Miller's editorial note recording it as an 1836 addition (print p. 65) — and nowhere in the 1786 instruments."
- **§II.D:** "…including the fifty-year duration clause and the twelve-month notice clause, **each** first appearing in the 1836 recordation (Arabic text, Article 25) and nowhere in the 1786 instruments…"

Doctrine unaffected substantively — both clauses remain void and stricken as repugnant to the perfected, irrevocable 1786 hiba (*al-sharṭu bāṭil wa al-hibatu ṣaḥīḥa*); "nowhere in the 1786 instruments" stands untouched. The conformation removes a falsifiable surface (a hostile reader could have waved the 1836 Arabic page at the word "English") and converts the finding into affirmative strength: the instrument now cites the Arabic page itself, with Miller's own note as own-side admission. Also of record from the same verification: the 1836 Arabic preamble declares the treaty sealed "that, with the help of God, it may remain firm for ever" — permanence from the 1836 instrument's own mouth (already quoted at §II.A).

**Queued against other instruments (no file changes — frozen):** the nine default instruments v1.0-FROZEN each carry "1836 English recordation" once or twice (§5.6/§5.7 doctrine language) — candidate errata for their next editions via GATE 1/GATE 2; no "U.S.-Morocco" construction appears in any of the nine. Master instrument: the same two conformations are appended to the approved errata queue (with E-MI-1/E-MI-2) as **E-MI-3** for the next master reissue.
